Over time the gas in your air conditioning system will dissapate and become less efficient, not being able to reach the correct temperatures and demisting less effectively. Not having the correct levels of gas in the system can also lead to bigger issues with other components like the compressor or evaporator.
This air-conditioning service is carried out using R1234YF gas, which was introduced from 2014 to be more environmentally friendly. This meant that manufacturers began to phase out R134A gas over a period of time. All vehicles manufactured from 1st January 2017 were produced using R1234YF with the aim of reducing damage to the environment over time and from this date onwards, manufacturers were no longer allowed to produce vehicles that used R134A.
